Artificial Intelligence Opinion Survey

Ohio Wesleyan University — Spring 2023

This research project, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Nicholas Dietrich at Ohio Wesleyan University, surveyed 1,000 employees — 250 each across education, IT/STEM, retail, and healthcare — to understand how artificial intelligence was affecting their work. Participants were recruited through Prolific and surveyed via Qualtrics, answering questions about AI's impact on their efficiency, its ability to replicate parts of their job, and their overall attitudes toward AI in the workplace.

Results were analyzed in R and visualized with Tableau dashboards, comparing AI's perceived impact across industries and demographic factors such as education, gender, and salary. Across all four industries, employees reported that AI improved their work efficiency and saved them time and effort. Findings were presented at the OWU Spring Science Symposium.
